JOB TITLE: Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a qualified Strength & Conditioning Coach for the 2019 baseball season. The position will report to Port Charlotte, FL and assist with Spring Training/Extended Spring Training, and oversee one of our short season teams in-season.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to implementing and overseeing the Tampa Bay Rays strength and conditioning program for Spring Training/Extended Spring Training and designated affiliate. Daily responsibilities include running preparation and warm up routines as well as scheduling/supervising of daily conditioning/speed work, scheduling/supervising of in-season workouts while at home and on the road, and tracking of player progress and daily/weekly/monthly reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or health related field
- Possess CSCS
- CPR/AED certification
- Ability to work duration of season for designated affiliate
- Must be able to lift up to 100lbs
The applicants should possess a good work ethic, with the ability to work long hours and weekends. The candidates should be pursuing a career in the Sports Performance field with the drive to increase player performance and health, work with a diverse population, and the ability to manage large groups. They should also be motivated to continue professional development through continuing education.
