JOB TITLE: ML Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach


  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and bachelor’s degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program required
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years Professional or College level experience, where your major job responsibilities were dedicated to Strength and Conditioning in a team setting
  • Certified with the NSCA – CSCS/RSCC and NATA – ATC required
  • CPR/AED required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with the Kinduct platform or similar performance platform.
  • Experience with athlete monitoring
  • A great work ethic, ability to work well with other and those of diverse backgrounds and cultures, good communication skills, and strong group leadership


RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the ML Head Strength & Conditioning Coach

  • Assist implementation of Department testing/assessment protocols
  • Assist individual player’s needs analysis creation and programming
  • Monitor, evaluate and assess player progressions and program prescription throughout the season/year
  • Supervise all pre-, in-game, and post-game individual programs for team
  • Execute team movement prep conditioning
  • Logging daily activity for all players
  • Assist in the creation of off-season strength and conditioning performance packages for each player within the organization
  • Ensure the Seattle Mariners meet the facility and supplement standards set forth by the MLB/MLBPA collective bargaining agreement
  • Evaluate, organize and supervise external vendor partners (equipment, supplements, development, etc.)
  • Work with Major League Physical therapist to devise and implement strength and conditioning programs for 40-man rehabilitation players.  This should include 40 man players sent to Arizona for rehab as well.
  • Communicate with affiliate Strength coaches if a ML player is on a rehab assignment to discuss current S&C program and goals.
  • Document exercise routine and provide update to ML PT to be included in EMR documentation
  • Assess ML rehab players for any additional compensation patterns that can be addressed during rehabilitation program
  • All other general responsibilities of the weight room
