JOB TITLE: Assistant Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator / Rehab Strength and Conditioning Coach

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include:

  • Implement/supervise the Mariners Strength and Conditioning program the entire year with the rehab athletes
  • Communicate with Rehab Coordinator and Medical Coordinator towards prehab/rehab routines, injury accommodations/limitations and progressions of injured athletes
  • Daily planning, scheduling and organization of activities at the complex in Peoria, Arizona including, Spring Training, in-season schedules and off-season camps
  • Implement individual player programs by planning daily performance training, conditioning, and sprint and agility work in the gym and on-field; update player programs throughout the season
  • Assist Minor League Coordinator maintain an accurate yearly budget for supplement and equipment orders to all affiliates
  • Advocate for implementation of sports science initiatives across multiple departments
  • Help generate protocols and program design, templates, databases and data entry
  • Conduct movement prep and warm-ups before every performance training session, batting practice, throwing program, conditioning and pre-game if necessary
  • Manage and record daily/weekly /monthly player reports
  • Promote healthy eating and basic nutrition counseling for the players
  • Weight room maintenance

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field
  • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential is required
  • NSCA Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach credential is required
  • Current CPR certification
  • Spanish speaking is desired but not required
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • A great work ethic, ability to work well with other and those of diverse backgrounds and cultures, good communication skills, and strong group leadership
  • Preferred previous experience as a strength and conditioning coach in collegiate or professional baseball
  • Reside or relocate to the greater Phoenix area year around to work out of our Peoria, Arizona complex
