JOB TITLE: Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coach

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include:

  • Implement/supervise the Mariners Strength and Conditioning program by planning daily performance training, conditioning and sprint and agility work in the gym and on-field during spring training as well as in season with the affiliate team
  • Conduct movement prep and warm ups before performance training, batting practice, throwing program, conditioning, games
  • Advocate for implementation of sports science initiatives across multiple departments
  • Communicate with Athletic Trainer as needed towards prehab/rehab routines, injury accommodations/limitations, progressions of injured athletes
  • Assist Athletic Trainer as needed with post-game shoulder scare routines, icing and other activities in the training room
  • Manage and record of daily/weekly /monthly player reports including body composition and weight training
  • Oversee and ensure quality of clubhouse nutrition
  • Weight room maintenance

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential is required
  • NSCA Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach credential is not required but preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Spanish speaking is desired but not required
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • A great work ethic, ability to work well with others and those of diverse backgrounds and cultures, good communication skills, and strong group leadership
  • Preferred previous experience as a strength and conditioning coach in collegiate or professional baseball.
  • Relocation to the greater Phoenix area during the off-season
