JOB TITLE: Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Detroit Tigers are looking for a Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a fulltime position that will require applicants to relocate to Lakeland, FL on a year round basis. The open position is with our Gulf Coast Team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting both Major/ Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coordinators during Spring Training with implementing the Detroit Tigers Strength & Conditioning Program. After spring, daily duties will consist of organizing team lifts, creating conditioning schedules, communicating daily with staff, (Mangers, Coaches, and Athletic Trainers), along with organizing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating players throughout the season within the parameters of the Detroit Tigers In-season Strength & Conditioning Program.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must hold a degree in Exercise Science or related field, with a strong interest in strength and conditioning. Professional or collegiate athletic strength and conditioning experience is necessary, with a basic understanding of periodization and functional weight training. Current CSCS/ CPR certification are required. Applicant must have the ability to motivate players individually, and in a group setting. Possess basic computer knowledge, general maintenance and cleaning skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to work long hours. Bi-Lingual preferred but not required.
COMPENSATION: Yearly salary with housing allowance provided in season. Relocation compensation will provided for move to Lakeland, FL.
