Alex Tavarez is the Latin American Performance Coach Coordinator for the New York Mets organization. Based out of Port St. Lucie, FL he oversees the S&C Department in the Dominican Republic while assisting at the PSL complex. He is currently going into his 8th year with the organization and 3rd in his current role. He was the S&C for the GCL Mets, Class A Columbia Fireflies, High A St. Lucie Mets, and the 2016 Arizona Fall League Scottsdale Scorpions. Prior to joining the Mets, he served as an S&C Coach at St. Leo University in Tampa, FL. He completed his degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL in 2013. He is from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and currently resides in Fort Pierce, FL with his wife Monica.
